Is GAF Whey rated-GAF?
On October 13, 2016, Chris Jones officially announced the release of his own protein powder – GAF Whey Peach Cobbler Flavor. And ever since I bought it, I have been drinking it everyday because of how good it tastes. Yes! It’s that good.
And if you’re reading this, you probably already know who Chris Jones is, and want to support him in buying his protein powder. Or maybe you want to buy it because of how bad your current one tastes and decided you needed a new one.
Whichever it is, I have amazing news for you…
GAF Whey makes 95% of the protein powders on the market taste like absolute shit!
Really? Yes. If you don’t believe me, then you want to read this to the end because you’re about to find out just how good GAF Whey really tastes. I even included some pictures so you can see for yourself.
So if you’re sick and tired of drinking the same “Boring Chocolate” and “More Boring Vanilla” flavored protein shake, don’t miss another word…

Before I tell you how GAF Whey tastes, I’m sure you might want to know about it’s macros and other things like that. So I’m going to quickly get that out of the way first.
Here are the macros for one scoop:
- 130 calories
- 2g of fat
- 3g of carbohydrates
- 25g of protein
On the container, it also lists an amino acid breakdown per serving.
Unfortunately, GAF Whey only comes in one size (5 pounds) and contains 67 servings.
It’s made with a blend of whey concentrate and whey isolate. And uses natural and artificial flavoring, with NO ADDED SUGAR.
Now, are you ready to find out how it tastes?
Let’s get started…
GAF Whey Review: First Shake
When I first got the container, I was able to smell the peach without even opening it.
And when I did, I got a huge blast of this creamy peach scent which smelled great.
My first shake was with a glass of water, and it had a taste unlike anything I ever tried.
GAF Whey in Water
This protein powder has an insanely rich, creamy vanilla that tastes just like milk. Then you get a hint of this sugary peach that tastes like peach-flavored candy rings. Delicious!
There are hundreds of vanilla flavor protein powders out there, and I’ve never tasted one like this before.
However, the only problem is it doesn’t taste as much like a peach cobbler, as it does peaches and cream.
But the flavors still go great together. No grainy texture and no bad aftertaste like most protein powders. Very smooth and natural.

GAF Whey Review: With Milk
Milk makes almost every protein powder taste better.
But with GAF Whey, you’ll be amazed how good this one is.
With milk, it’s more creamy, the flavors pop (especially the peach), and it’s like you’re eating candy or dessert.
GAF Whey in Milk
Drinking this with milk is my favorite way to prepare it.
While most protein powders need extra ingredients to make it taste better, GAF Whey doesn’t. Which is great because now you don’t need to spend extra money or time following a recipe.
Just mixing milk and GAF Whey is enough to beat most protein shake recipes you’ll find on the internet.
GAF Whey Review: Milk And A Banana
GAF Whey Milk and Banana
With protein shakes, a milk and banana are two of the best things to combine together. But as I expected with GAF Whey, a banana was too sweet.
However, if you have a sweet tooth (you probably do) this will definitely satisfy your craving.
The banana mixes in perfectly and the flavors go very well together. But you won’t taste the peach as much. The banana completely overpowers it (maybe half a banana would be better).
I wouldn’t drink this as much as I would with just milk. A banana isn’t necessary and it doesn’t make it taste that much better. It just gets rid of the peach which is the main part of the protein powder.
The only good thing is it makes it creamier and thick.
After a Few Weeks
I’ve been using GAF Whey for a few weeks and it just never gets old.
Seriously, I never get tired of it.
And this is rare because most protein powders taste worse the more you drink it. But with GAF Whey, it only tasted better and better.
I admit I might even be addicted to it.
After my workouts, I always look forward to making myself a shake. Especially with this delicious recipe…
GAF Whey Peach Cobbler Protein Shake Recipe
This recipe was created by Chris Jones himself and I loved it ever since. It gives you a real peach cobbler feel and taste. And who doesn’t love a nice homemade peach cobbler protein shake?
After drinking this once, you’ll almost always prepare it this way (as long as you have the ingredients).
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Milk
- 2 scoops of GAF Whey
- 2/3 cup of frozen peaches
- Packet of plain oatmeal
- Small Vanilla Flavored Yogurt
- Cinnamon
- Whipped Cream (optional)
Blend it all together, and this is what you’ll get…
A nice thick and creamy shake. And to make it look more presentable and tasty, top it off with whip cream and a little cinnamon.

Give this a try and you won’t believe how good it tastes. It’s amazing! Plus, you can easily fit this into your macros (if you’re not low-carbing, of course).
- 530 calories
- 12g of fat
- 70g of carbs
- 42g of protein
GAF Whey Review: What I Don’t Like
There’s only one thing I don’t like about GAF Whey.
And it’s the bloating.
GAF Whey is made mostly of whey concentrate which contains a fair amount of lactose compared to whey isolate.
And because I almost always used 100% whey isolate before, I knew this was what caused it.It wasn’t until I used GAF Whey did I ever experience bloating from a protein shake.
My stomach would feel like I was carrying a baby.
However, this still doesn’t stop me from drinking it. I just make sure to drink only one shake a day.
Final Thoughts
GAF Whey is a game-changer. There’s no other protein powder that tastes just as good and as natural as this one. And the best thing? I only need to drink it with water. It’s rare you ever find a protein powder you can say that about.
And what’s more, it tastes great with almost anything. I’ve used it with oatmeal, greens, and yogurt, etc., and it always comes out delicious.
So would I buy it again? You’re damn right I would.
In fact, I’ll always keep a container with me as long as it’s being sold. I’m even considering buying this for a friend as a gift because of how good it tastes. And also because he’s a fan of Chris too.
So don’t waste another second.
GAF Whey is constantly sold out, and randomly restocked. If you don’t get yours when it’s available, you might have to wait weeks.
P.S. If the taste of GAF Whey sounded good to you, then you might want to get yours because it is Peach Cobbler flavored (Amazon)
P.P.S. Chris sells a lot of other supplements too which you can find here (Pump N’ Grind, Intra-Pump – Strawberry Lemonade and Green Apple, PreOG, Branch Gainz)
