Myprotein Chocolate Brownie is the first flavor I’ve ever tried from this brand. And to say the least, it’s already made a good impression on me.
After solely drinking Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard for years and years, I’m happy to move on to a brand that seems promising.
If you’re wondering whether you should try this flavor too, then keep reading because I’m about to show you how this tastes in water, milk, and with a banana.
Let’s get started.
You might be surprised…
Water
As always, I started off by mixing a scoop of Myprotein Chocolate Brownie with a nice glass of cold water.
And as I go for a sip, I’m reminded of something very familiar.
The taste is super sweet and delicious.
It lives up to its chocolate brownie flavor too. The cake-like part of the brownie shows up in the background right before you flush it down, and it tastes like you can eat and chew it.
But I can see this shake being a bit too sweet for some. It’s so sweet it almost feels “sticky” on the palate.
However, on a good note, there’s no bad aftertaste.
A bit of the chocolate flavor hangs around but it’s not strong or overbearing.
Overall, I like it.
Now let’s see how it does in milk…
Milk
Mixing this protein powder with a glass of milk was just how I expected it to go.
It was very sweet, creamy, and even a bit “sticky” in texture.
However, there was an unusual artificial taste at the forefront of every sip. But luckily, it doesn’t stay for long. It just comes and goes.
On a good note, this shake really does have a nice chocolate brownie taste to it. It’s not on the homemade-baked-from-scratch level yet, but it is close to the packaged brownie mix.
The more I drink it, the more I like it.
It also doesn’t leave a bad after taste in my mouth. Rather, a sweet chocolate flavor.
Milk & Banana
When adding a banana to the mix above, it starts tasting really good.
It’s like your classic chocolate and banana milkshake, but with a super creamy and smooth texture. The banana adds a nice thickness and sweetness to the shake.
Nothing overpowers the other here and that’s what makes it so tasty.
The chocolate and banana are perfectly balanced. The artificial taste from before also disappears.
If you’re looking for a good-tasting classic and sweet protein shake after the gym, you’ve found it here.
After A Few Weeks
After several weeks of drinking Myprotein Chocolate Brownie, I wasn’t as excited to drink it anymore.
It was nice in the beginning but then became like any ordinary chocolate shake. Don’t get me wrong, it still tastes good. But it’s not something I’m going to look forward to all the time unless it’s prepared with milk.
However, considering how much other protein shakes I’ve had that I couldn’t stand even after just one week, this is a plus.
Myprotein Chocolate Brownie Review
I ordered the July 4th special edition
Myprotein Chocolate Brownie is a simple protein powder I think most people will enjoy especially if you’ve got a sweet tooth.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy it again solely because it doesn’t taste that great to me with water.
If I was able to have it mixed with milk all the time though, I’ll do that any day.
For my first flavor of Myprotein Impact Whey, it’s not a bad start.
Chocolate Brownie lives up to its name and is easy to flush down. The last thing you need after a workout is something nasty. This will be a safe choice.
