Myprotein Strawberry Cream won’t be on the top of your list. After finishing an entire 5-pound bag myself, I can say it doesn’t taste the best. However, don’t count it out just yet. There are still some people who love this flavor and swear by it.
Are they right or are they crazy? Let’s find out below.
Water
In water, this gives off similar characteristics to other strawberry-flavored protein powders. I don’t know what it is, but from the ones I’ve tried (including this one), they all have a strong artificial/chemical taste. It didn’t make me want to spit it out, but it’s definitely not the “strawberry cream” flavor you’re expecting. If I had to compare this to something, it’d be strawberry-flavored cough drops or cough syrup. Overall, not the best, not the greatest. However, I can get it down without flinching.
I expected this to be more like strawberry milk given the added “cream” part to its name, but there’s none of that. Maybe mixing it with milk will help?
Milk
In milk, Strawberry Cream takes a turn. Although, we’re still dealing with a little bit of that artificial/chemical taste. The milk helps a lot with masking it and makes the shake taste a whole lot better. Only now can I see this flavor living up to its name. With milk, it’s creamy and smooth with a subtle strawberry sweetness that I can get behind. It has a Nesquik strawberry milk flavor but is quickly interrupted with its artificial aftertaste. But again, it’s not bad and I can easily find myself drinking it every day. Definitely an improvement from solely using water.
Milk And Banana
Blending Strawberry Cream with milk and a banana did no justice to this protein powder. You get a nice creamy and sweet shake, but like all the other times, the artificial taste still seeps through and takes over. There’s no avoiding it, it seems. But in milk and a banana, it’s the most dulled and is my preferred way to take this protein.
Mixability
MyProtein Strawberry Cream is very easy to mix. No matter your blender bottle, you shouldn’t come across any protein shake clumps. I shook mine in a regular bottle without the ball whisk and it mixed just fine. The same thing even with milk although it took some aggression. As long as the ball whisk is inside, you’re good to go.
MyProtein Strawberry Cream Review
After finishing a 2lb bag of this whey, it hasn’t grown on me. The taste is the same and the best you can do with this is try blending it with different fruits to try and hide it.
MyProtein Strawberry Cream is not a flavor I would buy again.
But if it’s there, I won’t have any issue drinking it.
Strawberry-flavored protein powders are usually never that good to begin with, despite the brand. So you can’t really expect too much here. Compared to some others I’ve had, Myprotein Impact Whey has a fairly decent taste.
